The Charlotte Symphony will perform a concert called "Together We Rise" at the Sarah Belk Gambrell Center at Queens University. It will explore themes of freedom, strength, and justice through works by a diverse range of composers. One of the works on the program is by Queens University Composer-in-Residence, Malek Jandali. He talks about his compositions, the responsibility he feels to preserve his Syrian heritage through music, and the unique role music can play in furthering humanitarian and educational objectives.
