This is two NYU students, sitting in their dorm, filming the trade towers from their window on the morning of 9/11. From their angle they see a lot of smoke coming out of tower #1, which was struck just a few minutes before they started filming, and while they are speculating about what has happened, they see a plane go into Tower #2.

There were actually some celebrities that had some close calls that day, one of which was Seth MacFarlane, the writer/comedian behind the tv series Family Guy. Here he is on Piers Morgan’s show a few years later explaining that he was supposed to be on American Airlines flight 11.

It’s crazy that there is basically a single morning, almost two decades ago, that EVERYONE alive at the time has some form of recollection of.
