For 20 weeks, we are addressing a challenge that builds your resilience. Resilience helps us bend in a storm instead of breaking. We are all facing storms of different sorts, whether it be an illness, travel, pressures at work, or tough challenges. We want to be able to handle those with grace and confidence, so we're tackling 20 lessons that will help you build that resilience and help address change in a more productive way.

This week we're talking about getting your needs met. Well, that might sound a little prima donna, but I assure you we all have needs. It's perfectly normal to have needs. You're probably familiar with your social studies or your psychology studies in school with Maslow's hierarchy of needs. It wasn't depicted as a pyramid until much later, after he had created it. At the top of the pyramid is something called self-actualization, which means we've recognized our purpose in life and we're helping others fulfill theirs. But in between air, water, food, shelter, and some other things and self-actualization, we've actually got these personal needs. And these are the things that help us be the best version of ourselves. A lot of people resist the idea of having needs, but needs are actually central to who we are
