The 1960's is referred to as the Kaiju Boom. It was the peak of the age of giant monster movies, with several releasing each year. But before the Boom hit, there was a lull in Japan for the genre. That was until Toho came out with their newest kaiju film, and a monster that is nearly equal in popularity to Godzilla himself, MOTHRA!
