We were delighted to have Bronte Poetry Award winner Diane Pacitti join us for poetry and a book club discussion on The Ungrateful Refugee. Here Diane shares some of her poems with us in the context of the themes around the book which are from her anthology, Dark Angelic Mills written while she was poet in residence at Bradford Cathedral. The collection explores the changing role of the church in a multi-faith and often forcefully secular society where it can no longer speak with its deep-rooted authority. Diane Pacitti’s poetry envisages a new role of living more truly the presence of Christ and speaks directly to concerns we are challenged with in the present day.
