IC School, “Talking” Houses & Plumfest

This week Joe’s guests were:

Mary Reardon, Principal, Immaculate Conception School, which is celebrating its 135th Anniversary. First, we talked a bit about the history of the school, the school today, and in the future with Mary’s upcoming retirement. Mary also shared details about the 135th Anniversary Gala to be held May 19.
Jack Santos, the organizer of If This House Could Talk. We talked about the concept of the project and how residents may take part. Local homeowners will display a sign describing something about the history of, or an interesting fact about their house during Yankee Homecoming. Most of all, the idea behind the project is to get people interacting in the real world. A video of the interview was streamed via Facebook here.
Cynthia Keefe & Kevin Kelley, the founders of Plumfest, joined us to talk about the Island-wide music festival. This year 80 musical acts will play in/on driveways, yards, porches & decks on Plum Island on May 20. So, don’t miss it!
