Following the federal election and the state continuing to have various industries fall apart there was no shortage of things to talk about this week as I co-opted a friend into joining me for this recap episode.
We talk about the brand new Labor government, what it means that the 'teals' may end up with no more power than a backbench and what the election result told us about the mood of voters. Given the federal result is now relatively finalised there is no doubt the media will soon turn to the state election as parties start to soft launch policies and we face an election fought over the health system, corruption and cost of living.
Labor won on low primary vote.
Tim Smith op-ed on the Liberal loss.
The ambulance system crashes temporarily (again) in Victoria.
Voter swing against Labor in key electorates.
