In this week's view of the nation, the Gauteng province continues to bear the brunt of little to no water running through taps as a result of Rand Water maintenance processes. The water utility assured citizens about 2months ago that they will have cleaning running water soon. While parts of Johannesburg do without water, Tshwane residents have spent as long as 6months without water. Local councilors in areas like Mamelodi have coupled the reasons with theft, gangsterism and vandalism calling it the "Water Mafia".
