I am excited to have our first obstetrician on the podcast - the wonderful Dr. Natalie Elphinstone!

I met @drnatalieelphinstone at an event last year and found her perspective on birth very fascinating.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How Natalie changed her approach from “What to do and how to do it” to “When to do nothing”
  • Un-learning many many years of medical school and obstetric approaches to birth in order to be able to serve low-risk women better
  • Recognising that she isn’t an expert in physiological birth
  • The process of “un-learning” she has had to go on to be able to help women have better birth experiences
  • Navigating the challenges she’s faced whilst trying to change her obstetric practice
  • What she thinks is her most important role in the birth

I’d love to know what you thought of this episode, jump over to @physiolaura and tell me what you learnt!
