Abby Palanca joins Shane and Alex to share her childhood memories of going to the Hamptons for summer vacations and how the area has changed over the years.
We the dive in to discuss her current weekend getaway in Millstone, New Jersey, where she and her family have a house on 11 acres of land. Abby talks about the rural and quiet nature of the property and her plans for it to be a multi-generational house for her children and their families.
She also shares a fun story about clients who had grand plans for a property upstate but encountered various challenges along the way. In this conversation, Abby discusses the concept of privacy in paradise and the importance of having a place to escape and create memories.
Abby also talks about the shift in second home purchases during COVID-19 and how people are still buying second homes outside of the city for a better work-life balance. Along with discussing some of the ever changing neighborhoods, such as Red Hook in Brooklyn, where Airstreams have been turned into food trucks and art galleries.
