Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX:AZ9) managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss the company’s ambitious exploration strategy for its mineral projects in Mongolia, with a primary focus on the Oval Copper-Nickel (Yambat) Project. Recently reinstated to the ASX, the company has rapidly initiated its 2024 exploration program. The exploration camp has been mobilised to the Yambat Exploration Licence area and diamond drill rigs are scheduled to arrive next week. Geophysical teams have completed field data acquisition, processing and interpretation to aid in drill design, with analysis set to conclude before phase 1 drilling begins. Zunduisuren expressed enthusiasm for the program, highlighting the company's strong technical team and numerous exploration targets. The Oval Copper-Nickel Project, covering a 100-square-kilometre area in southwest Mongolia, is a new magmatic copper-nickel sulphide discovery. The 2024 drilling will focus on expanding and continuing mineralisation identified in 2023. Phase 1 involves 2,500 metres of diamond drilling by Bayan Undarga Drilling LLC, targeting mineralisation around drill hole OVD-009, which previously intersected significant mineralisation. Additional geophysical data, including PDIP and CSAMT/AMT surveys, are being processed by Magtec LLC and Ronacher McKenzie LLP. Geological mapping and structural geological reviews are also underway to support the drilling campaign. The company aims to advance other geophysical targets and plans a follow-up phase 2 drilling program in late 2024. Asian Battery Metals will also explore other Mongolian projects, including the Khukh Tag Graphite Project and the Tsagaan Ders Lithium Project. Located near China, the company is strategically positioned to benefit from the demand for EV battery materials. #ProactiveInvestors #AsianBatteryMetals #ASX #AZ9 #Mongolia #Exploration #Mining #Copper #Nickel #Minerals #Geophysics #DiamondDrilling #BatteryMaterials #EV #Graphite #Lithium #Geology #MineralExploration #2024Exploration #MiningProjects #MetallurgicalTesting #MarketPosition #invest #investing #investment #investor #stockmarket #stocks #stock #stockmarketnews
