Lex LaFoy from Durban, South Africa first made a name for herself in 2004 as a battle and freestyle emcee as well as a performance poet. Her mainstream debut was in 2005 when she was the runner up to Sizwe Dhlomo first ever MTV Base VJ search. Lex LaFoy went on to graduate from the University of Kwazulu Natal with a BSS in Psychology and Philosophy in 2012 and was voted one of South Africa’s hottest rapper in 2016 by GQ Magazine South Africa. Her undeniable talent with words has been seen on many stages like the ‘Red Bull Bass Camp’ where she was exclusively chosen to perform alongside artist like Shane Cooper, Casper Nyovest, Moonchild but to name a few. Lex LaFoy is a rising star with her 2017 album Honey Bass, 2019 EP ‘22’ and recent 2020 single Durban Magic Lex LaFoy most definitely an artist to look out for.
