Welcome to Profoundly Human!
This is an interview I did with my sons Walter, Harry, and Ralph on August 23rd. It was just after the All-Star game and there was still a lot of baseball left to play.
It has been a magical summer. One that transported me back to my childhood, when all I did was play cricket and watch cricket.
This was the summer my boys fell in love with baseball. Every day they played in the yard, and every day they watched the Cincinnati Reds. I loved playing catch with them in the yard… and sometimes in the house… don’t tell Mrs. Kelly.
They might be the biggest Reds fans in the world. Some days I would listen to them talking baseball around the dinner table, and I thought to myself, ‘If someone was listening who didn’t follow baseball, they would think the Cincinnati Reds are sure to win the World Series… and that they had won the world series for the past ten years in a row.” Their optimism and enthusiasm were beautiful to watch and absolutely contagious.
