Lots of people have been talking about the need for a ‘united front’ against the Trump administration and the growth of right-wing extremism. But what does that actually mean? How do we build united fronts when there are so many different political positions? And how can those who are committed to left-wing politics organize with liberals who are committed to maintaining some version of the status quo? The Marxist strategy of the united front, and its grounding in the historical of real struggles, helps to clarify how we can move forward in building a militant mass movement.
