We’ve been training our new puppies to stay inside our yard by using electric collars.

We’ve put up boundary flags around the perimeter of our yard, and are training them not to go near the boundary. If they get too close their electric collar beeps a warning to them. And if they ignore the beep, they get a mild, but effective shock.

Watching my boys train the puppies made me wonder, am I listening for the warning beeps God gives me when I move too close to the boundary of His will? His Word is like warning flags that help me navigate what’s best and safest for me.

I know there are times when my disobedience has given me quite a shock. But we are meant to have teachable, trainable hearts that trust God’s boundaries.
