They were two distinctly named bands that had two distinctly different sounds, but they were both from the same scene. The Strawberry Alarm Clock sang with vocal harmonies that were similar in arrangement to The Beach Boys and The Association. Musically they had a pleasing "Sunshine Pop" sound and achieved commercial success. The Chocolate Watch Band had a grittier garage rock sound and had sonic similarities to The Rolling Stones. They are favorites in garage rock compilation albums.
We will be listening to these two bands that were a part of the Summer of Love sound from 1967.
