Next Gen Indy's Ryan Kent Jr bumped into Jack Harvey at the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway. The Brit drives for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports in the top rung of the Mazda Road to Indy, the Indy Lights Series. Harvey currently leads the Indy Lights season, a mere 6 points over American Spencer Pigot.

Harvey discusses his season so far. The Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Honda powered Dallara IL-15 has seen a consistent season thus far, despite an unfortunate ending at Mid-Ohio. Harvey was claimed victim as contact was made with Ed Jones while battling for the lead. Sean Rayhall went on to win the race.

"The certainly give me alot of confidence moving forward. You know I believe in the guys with all my heart."

When asked about racing for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports, Harvey has nothing but praise. Harvey has gelled well with the race team. This is his second season with SPM as he hopes to move up to the Verizon INDYCAR Series next year.

"You've taken what is, in the past, been like a 3 team battle and extended to a 5 team battle."

The Mazda Road to Indy is a competitive ladder, especially in the Indy Lights series. With the names of Juncos Racing and Carlin Motorsport joining the series with multiple cars, the heat on the track has only increased. Many credit the newfound interest in the series to the new Dallara IL-15 chassis, a new attractive car that's more powerful and has more aero grip than the previous machine.

The 2015 Indy Lights series concludes at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca September 10 - 13 for the final two rounds. With the points battle so close between Jack Harvey, Spencer Pigot, and Ed Jones, the finale promises to impress.
