Sin is a deceitful liar. It always has been. It always will be. The problem is that we convince ourselves it isn't. We trick ourselves into believing that it's not that big of a deal and that we can handle it. Just a little bit, we say. It's not that bad, we think. Then, all of a sudden, we look back and realize what's been taken from us. I believe an old saying about this is insightful: "Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay."
