This episode touched upon a sensitive topic as Sasja bravely shares her experience of facing racism and transphobia from an Uber driver last weekend. Joining her in this important conversation was a proud trans woman of colour, Lily Chang. Along with that, we're thrilled to introduce our new co-host, Shehrazade, who joined Sasja and Lily in the studio. Through their own words, they described their passion for joining Queering The Air.Lilly Chang (She/Her) Lilly is a woman of color who is proudly trans and was born and raised in Malaysia. She is of Chinese descent and migrated to Australia in the early 2000s. Since 2011, she has been a prominent voice in the trans community, advocating for trans rights. Throughout filming for her channel, Lilly has had the honor of meeting trans celebrities from around the world. Lily is currently working at Queer Space Drummond Street — an organisation dedicated to upholding the wellbeing and mental health of Melbourne’s LGBTIQ+ community, who consist of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or gender diverse, intersex, queer, questioning and asexual people.Shehrazade (They/She) Shehrazade is a non-binary queer writer, poet and healer.
