One of the worst-kept secrets in Formula 1 over the past week was finally revealed on Tuesday, as Ferrari announced that Team Principal Mattia Binotto would leave the team at the end of 2022.

Rumours that Binotto’s place at Ferrari was in jeopardy had started to circulate during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, and grew ever more prominent until the announcement that Binotto and Ferrari are to part ways.

And with a very highly regarded engineer soon to be on the job market, what will former Ferrari lifer Binotto do next?
