While the Spanish Grand Prix often produces processional races, this year's event was anything but, as an action-packed Sunday saw Max Verstappen survive an early spin to win his fourth race of 2022, after Charles Leclerc retired from a comfortable lead with an engine problem.
But while the on-track action was thrilling, the weekend was ruined for many fans by poor logistics and shambolic organisation in and around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. With so many new venues clamouring to join the F1 calendar, will such issues threaten the future of the Spanish Grand Prix?
Leclerc's mishap means he and Verstappen have now suffered a combined three mechanical failures after just six races in 2022. Why are we seeing this degree of unreliability so far this year?
