In this podcast episode, Velislava and Elize interview Vasileios Karakasis, lecturer at the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs, specialised in Greek-Turkish relations and the Cyprus dispute. They discuss the history and nature of the ongoing dispute on Cyprus, the global significance of the issue, the role of (inter)national actors such as the United Nations, but also the interference of many different states such as Turkey, the United Kingdom and Greece. Most importantly, they discuss the implications of the dispute for both Greek-Cypriots and the Turkish-Cypriots and the future of the dispute. Will it be settled, and if so, what will the politics of the island look like in the future?

All of these questions will be answered in this interesting conversation between Vasileios, who has done extensive research on the topic, and Velislava, who has grown up on the island and experienced the dispute first handedly.
