It is performed five times a day (Fajr, the dawn prayer; Dhuhr, the early afternoon prayer; Asr, the late afternoon prayer; Maghreb, the sunset prayer; Isha’a, the night prayer). The first phrase is said four times and the rest twice. Adhan English translation is: Allah [God] is Great I bear witness that there is no god except the One Allah [God] I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah [God] Hurry to the prayer (Rise up for prayer) Hurry to success (Rise up for Salvation) Prayer is better than sleep (This part is only recited for morning prayers) Allah [God] is Great There is no god except Allah [the One God]
