Zijn mentaliteit van de koe bij de horens vatten heeft hij behouden, maar sinds een burn-out zo´n vijf jaar geleden is het hem gelukt het roer om te gooien en de balans tussen lichaam en geest te herstellen en te behouden.
Na het opstaan ´s-morgens voert hij eerst een lichaamsscan uit en doet hij zijn ademhalingsoefeningen. Het helpt hemzelf, en hij helpt anderen, op de kazerne en in zijn privéleven.
