Motivated early by a need to see change, Mary Pat Hector was just 10 years old when she began advocating for social justice. By age 14 she had joined the staff of National Action Network. Today she is the National Youth Director of NAN and a rising senior at Spelman College. Compelled to change the political power structure, she recently ran for elected office as the youngest woman and person of color to run for a city council seat in Georgia. While she lost by only 22 votes, she learned so much about herself and her future in politics.

One of her favorite quotes:

“IF you see a problem, don’t be afraid to solve it”

You will enjoy this episode.
