Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Last week’s show was an “All Birthday” edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. This week, we’re celebrating just one birthday, that of novelty pianist Billy Mayerl. As you can see from the sheet music above, Billy was also a composer, and you’ll hear “Georgie Porgie” performed by Paul Whiteman and His Orchestra. “Georgie Porgie” was co-composed by Gee Paul, but that’s not his real name. You’ll find out his real name and a little about him in the first segment of the show. In other segments, we’ll do some studying, some dancing, some mountain climbing and we’ll get sloppy. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
ENJOY THE SHOW!
