The Health Insurance Marketplace (sometimes referred to as Obamacare) may be your best option for health insurance if you are not covered by an employer, spouse or parent's plan, or any other source. Huh. You may be eligible to purchase essential health benefits depending on your household income and family size.
Who is Eligible for the Texas Health Insurance Marketplace?
To be eligible for the Health Insurance Marketplace, you:
- Must live in the United States
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Cannot be imprisoned (ie serving a sentence in jail or prison)
- If you have Medicare coverage, you are not eligible to use the Marketplace to purchase a health plan.
