I love how the conversation covered every aspect of it from what breeds gossip to the the culture we live in that has a facination with slander and gossip. Idle lives breed drama Gossip is saying what should not be said Your idle ways are opportunities for the adversary Colossians 3:16-18 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.’ Let the word of Christ dwell in you, don’t be fluent in filthy communication (Ephesians 4:29) Tame that tongue! Turn moments of gossip into opportunities of teaching and admonishing in wisdom It’s easy to keep people names out your mouth when you keep God’s name in it *Bonus Bible* Proverbs 16:28 A dishonest man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends. Bible search results Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. James 3:8-9 but no human being can tame the tongue.
