After making it through a lengthy interview where you are discussing all of your experience, skills and education the recruiter or hiring manager asks you a (seemingly) benign question, "so, tell me about your hobbies".
If this question bothers you, then you're not alone. A LinkedIn News editor was hit with quite a lot of strong responses to an article written on this topic and we too have thoughts!

In this episode we are going to discuss the often difficult process of finding the right hire - but does it have to be so difficult?
Could we solve this issue by:
- focusing on what the role actually needs to be executed on successfully
- matching education, skillset and experience to the technical function of a role
- stop hiring for personality and hire for technical capability
