On September 27th, 2021, a panel discussion on the violation of Indigenous People’s Human Rights in Canada, the USA and Australia was held via Zoom. The event was organized by the permanent diplomatic missions of the Republic of Belarus, the People’s Republic of China, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea as a side event during the 48th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council on the situation of Indigenous peoples. According to David Lopez of International Association for Human Rights and Social Development, the event was organized to “denounce the irregularities of the Indigenous peoples in the USA, Australia and Canada so that the international community takes action and learns what is never told about these countries in terms of human rights.” The event was co-sponsored by the International Association for Human Rights and Social Development, the Comité de Solidaridad International y Lucha par la Paz – Venezuela, China NGO network for International Exchanges, the CGI-JS, Common Frontiers Canada, Collectivo Europeo De La Diversidad Ecuatoriana, and the China Society for Human Rights Studies.
