This week on “Rebel Hearts”: Kristie speaks with vegan activist, James Aspey. James is a man on a mission. He believes the majority of people in the world are participating in unnecessary and easily avoidable violence every time they purchase animal products. He is most well known for taking a year long vow of silence to raise awareness for animals and cycled 5000kms across Australia. He also got tattooed for 25 hours to raise money for charity and has reached tens of millions of people through his online speeches. In this interview, James talks about his own Hero’s Journey that got him to where he is today. This includes a Leukemia diagnosis at just 17 years old, which led him to become a vegetarian, a personal trainer, and eventually a Vegan. He shares some of the astonishing research he came across leading him to what he believes is the obvious choice. James and I discuss the difference between vegetarianism and veganism, and why the latter is the next logical step if you want to have an ethical stand. Find out why it’s not just eating meat that causes atrocities to these poor animals, but the dairy industry does, too. You will also hear James bust some of the myths surrounding veganism and how much we have been brainwashed by the meat and dairy industries. And throughout the entire interview, you will see how practicing compassion through veganism can (and does) certainly affect the state of the world. Watch this interview to learn how you, too, can make choices that make an impact. BE the change that you want to see in the world … it all starts with us!
