In this episode, I’m with film maker Leslie Cunningham, sitting out on a warm 70-degree November day at Rufhiwa Book Café in Durham, NC. I say it’s November 21st in the episode when it’s November 11th and we say the name of the coffee shop ALL kinds of ways before we get it right. We talk about Black women’s abandonment, self-worth, Black family secrets, Black family legacy, death, and the Bad Ass Boss Black women who wake the dead with their healing stories. And if that didn’t bring us enough laughs, we stitch in the local color of a perfectly Black-Southern-urban corner where there’s a walk-up hotdog shop, a church, a Black lesbian owned coffee shot, and somebody riding free-handed on they bicycle smoking a joint.

And don’t forget, Recollect is member supported so drop some coins the juke box and Boo push play.
