Is this you? “Oh, yeah! I’ve seen that plant my entire life and didn’t know what it was or that you could eat it?” The COVID pause sent a lot of us to walking in the woods and looking at stuff, and trudging on it but most of us, myself included, still didn’t know what we were looking at. Kafi and I have done a lot of hiking and identifying since then, sharing stories and knowledge along the way. Join us for one of our post hike conversations where we talk about how we know what we know about being out in the woods from our mothers and their mothers and the things we have taught our children and their children. We also talk a plenty about the things we don’t know. Kafi is a wealth of knowledge. She is a librarian a Black forager, and can hold a conversation Black southern woman style with some stories that have held us both on the front porch or on the edge of the woods until long after the frogs start croaking. I hope y’all are able to recollect yourselves to the feast that is in the bush. Don’t worry we give you some tips on where to go and how to get started. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/zelda-lockhart/support
