The story begins with Solomon cutting a covenant with Hiram of Tyre to secure cedar from Lebanon and ends with 7 years of construction. In the middle of the story, the Lord visits Solomon with a subtle reminder of heart devotion. If Israel is devoted to the Lord, the temple will be a blessing. If Israel is devoted to the temple, it will become a snare.
