Welcome to the Saving Throes podcast! This is my Tabletop role-playing game podcast, part of the Red Rooster's Gaming Coop network where I talk gaming and gaming culture every week. Each episode will feature a topic or theme along with my take on current happenings in the world of tabletop role-playing games and semi regular updates on the games I am currently involved with, or new games or products I have come across.
A recent post on Reddit has piqued the curiosity of many on the internet. An angry DM, fed up with the troubles at their gaming table has posted a list of 44 rules for their gaming group to follow... or else! At first glance this list of 44 rules is driven by anger and frustration, and seem to act as more of a repellent for players. However, upon further pondering the underlying message of these rules, I think many DMs can relate to some of the frustrations being aired out here. Although maybe not expressed with the right approach, there is actually more than meets the eye here. I decided to weigh in on this relatively popular subject amongst content creators currently to give my take on the thoughts being expressed. Tune in to hear how many of these issues raised are issues you have had to wrestle with yourself at some point. I am certain many will be able to relate to at least some of them!
