9th July 2017 AM - Preacher: Bevan Burnes - Bible Passage: James 3:1-10 - Almost every day in the various forms of media, there are stories of people making incriminating, degrading, libellous and incorrect claims about the lives and activities of people. Presidents, politicians, business leaders, pop stars, all seem to be on a 'deliberate' course to ruin someone's life. An Australian actress has recently won a court case against a popular woman's magazine for publishing incorrect details about her life. These false accusations have apparently cost the actress movie roles and subsequent loss of income. In our reading today, James has some very hard hitting things to say about our tongues. Sadly, James is not speaking to presidents, politicians, business leaders, or pop stars, but to fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We can be just as guilty as non-christians!
