How Community-Based Rehabilitation Programs Helpful for Underprivileged Children? | Ms. Pratima Tiwary | #reedmystory She is a dedicated and versatile professional with over fifteen years of experience in special education and administration. Her career began as a secondary level English teacher, driven by her passion for teaching. However, a pivotal moment occurred when her son was diagnosed with Autism in 2003. Committed to providing the best care for her child, she made a transformative shift into the realm of special education. Her enthusiasm led her to volunteer with Tamanna, a respected NGO in Delhi NCR, where she expanded her knowledge in the field. As a special educator and a parent of an autistic child, she gained profound insights into the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. Her unwavering dedication to bridging the gap between school management, regular teachers, students, counselors, and parents led to her pivotal role as the head of the special wing at a prestigious inclusive school in Dwarka, serving 110 children. Her exceptional organizational, planning, and administrative skills allowed her to effectively balance the demanding roles of teaching and administration. Beyond the school setting, She has made a significant impact in community-based rehabilitation programs, conducted awareness workshops on autism and inclusion, and currently holds the position of Head of the Department overseeing Aasmaan, a section dedicated to developmentally challenged individuals, within an esteemed inclusive school in Dwarka.
