What are the Different Types of Addictions and Approaches to Recovery? |Dr. S D Singh | #reedmystory He an accomplished psychiatrist, holds an MBBS degree from TVM Medical College (1968) and two PG qualifications: DPM from Bombay University (1974) and DPM from the College of Physicians and Surgeons (1980). He is a Fellow of the International Society of Sex Education and Parenthood (USA) and a Life Fellow of the Indian Psychiatry Society, bringing over 50 years of psychiatric experience in Cochin, Kerala. Currently serving as a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Sudheendra Medical Mission Hospital in Cochin, he has made significant contributions as the Founder Secretary of the Torture Prevention Center India Trust, Founder Director of the Mukthi Deaddiction Centre, and Founder Director of the KVM Deaddiction Centre in Cherthala. Additionally, He has been an active member of the State Juvenile Board (1998-2004) and the first Secretary of the Indian Psychiatry Society, Kerala State Branch (1984). He has published three books, including "Alcohol Dependence," "Memories of a Mental Health Professional," and "Life is a Textbook," and has participated in scientific presentations at national and international forums. His areas of interest revolve around the treatment and prevention of addiction, adolescent mental health, and suicide prevention.
