This year RP host Jack Frayne-Reid has made two albums of lo-fi home recordings under the (unoriginal) name Crazy Moose: Patterns (in July) and, this October (or was it September? fuck man) Ghost Horizon, which was recorded over the summer. In the first part of a two-side conversation Yair interviews Jack about the first side of the record, which includes the songs 'Side Two', 'Tombstone Bones', 'Fickle", 'Fucking Vindicated' and 'Talking Thunder'. We talk about the inspiration behind the songs (and Yair's artwork for the album), be they the life and music of the late David Berman, the two hosts' mental health (content note for discussion of deep depression and suicidal thoughts)and merely existing in Thatcher & Reagan's neoliberal dream. Lots of guitar sounds are picked over and plagiarism is confessed to. You can stream/download Ghost Horizon here as one long big track on the RP SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/reelpolitikpodcast/crazy-moose-ghost-horizon Or you can stream/download it as a playlist of individual tracks on Jack's SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/j-p-frayne-reid/sets/crazy-moose-ghost-horizon To support Crazy Moose, or even - God forbid - the Reel Politik Podcast, subscribe to our Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/reelpolitik
