The March 2021 edition of the Archives of PM&R’s RehabCast features Dick Thijssen and his work towards figuring out how we can accurately estimate cardiovascular risk factors in spinal cord injured persons. It’s challenging to mitigate a risk you can’t even properly estimate. There are a lot of theories out there and now Thijssen and his colleagues at Liverpool John Moores University are putting them to the test. We also visit with Susan Linder who along with her colleagues at the Cleveland Clinic is working out the links between post stroke walking capacity, upper extremity repetitive task practice, and cycling.
