Seth Bunev completely cut himself off from most forms of technology for four years. Not only that, but he also traveled during this time, trying to navigate different languages, people, and cultures while being completely disconnected. In this episode of Relate, we hear Seth's story, talk about the importance of restructuring our minds, and why we must engage in communities.

Seth Bunev was in his tweens when the internet took over everyone’s lives (including his). Concerned about the impacts unfolding around him, he gave away his phone and laptop at age 17 and spent four years offline. His book, Screenfarers: Nurturing Deliberate Action in a Digital World, is a guide for parents and teachers to how digital media shape the mind, and how to help young people sail the sea of information with skill and intention— rather than becoming habitually distracted through passive surfing.
