The take-away is listening to the Holy Spirit - being watchful and prepared for the encounters in which God places us in order to care about the one person right in front of us. In the first 8 and a half chapters of Acts, we see God calling the apostles to preach to the masses - and thousands of people coming to believe in the Gospel of Christ. Preaching to the masses is very important! But the second half of chapter 8 gives us a glimpse of a different kind of evangelism. We are suddenly given an example of evangelism efforts for ONE HUMAN SOUL... not the masses. We see the Holy Spirit direct Phillip to one man. Philip could not have imagined that his obedience to that one Ethiopian man would have ripple effects for the Gospel to go from Jerusalem, and all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The final call to the listener - Who is "the one" God might be calling you to witness to, to serve, to meet the needs of? We can't imagine the kingdom ripple effects God might have in store through our obedience to "the one." Speaker: Bep Reeves Scripture: Acts 8:26-40 http://bible.com/events/49119808
