Let's talk about the James Webb Space Telescope. Scientists talk about what they're experiencing when they first see new images and discoveries. They wax poetic - they're astonished, amazed. They talk about it almost as if it's a mystical experience or an intense spiritual experience. We get that. Sometimes creation can do that to us. That's what's happening to King David when he wrote this Psalm. O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is your name in all the earth. You have set your glory above the heavens. David is having an intense spiritual experience of the divine through contemplating creation. He begins to understand just how large the divine really is. Then, it gets intensely personal. He feels honored and cared for. Who are we humans that you pay attention to us? You've made us a little lower than the heavenly beings. We know what these experiences are, too. David doesn't stop there - he realizes that the divine wants to work with us in the caring for creation. God wants partners. And when we do partner with God in caring for those who need it most - the incomprehensible glory we see in the universe is now reveals in our little lives below. Speaker: Aaron Vis Scripture: Psalm 8:1-9 https://www.bible.com/events/49137008
