The original idea we had was to bring Scouse House, Donk and the lighter side of Hard Dance to the norwich scene. As it was at the time there was alot of Hardstyle, Hard House, Bounce and Drum & Bass events going on at Media Nightclub.
We all met at the YMCA where we lived and used to practice together in our rooms, it soon became apparent that we all had an undying passion for all forms of Hard Dance and worked well together on and off the decks. We came up with the name Hard Cheese and started putting on small events at Comfortably Numb and Bar X. There were only three Dj's, myself (DjF2), Ian Sharman (Dj Bubblinblue) and Kevin Young (Dj Beatpresser). DjF2 was at the time the after party resident for Media Nightclub, Beatpresser was a resident for Uber and Energy Rush and Bubblinblue was fairly new to the Norwich scene.
We had guest Dj's and a lot of fun doing this event. This podcast is dedicated to Dj Beatpresser who sadly died a few years ago and he would have loved to see his event started up again and going from strength to strength.
I would also like to give a special thank you to Kevins family for digging out this mixtape for me and all those who have supported us throughout the years, you all know who you are.
