Heaven: Part 7 - Good News And Good Works

This week, we remind ourselves that our good works are dirty rags in heaven, but good news everyone! Jesus Christ has already done all the heavy lifting for us!

We often speak about the here and now, but we need to remember the there and then, too. The Kingdom of Heaven, the there, and the work of Christ on the cross, the then, that paid for our admittance into the Kingdom.

You are saved from hell and saved for heaven. It was Christ's work that made that possible.

We need to love louder than to speak louder. Act more Christian than talk more Christian.

We profess with our mouths, but act the opposite with our way of life.

Like a fish content to live in toxic waters, we've become accustomed to being comfortable in our sin.

So get up, get out and do something about it!

The gospel promises change. So let's live in God's promises. For us, it's a completely new way of life coming from a way that was nothing but death.

So are you ready to change your constant, daily death, into an everlasting, new life in Christ?

You have that choice. It's your chance now while you read these words and hear this sermon.

God has always been ready for you, are you ready for him?

Ephesians 2:8-10 NIV

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith— and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
