The tiny Indian Ocean island nation of Seychelles is the birthplace of Afro-Kreol singer-songwriter Grace Barbé. Although she calls Perth home these days, her international cast of musicians draws inspiration from the traditional Indian Ocean rhythms of her homeland. Grace has been awarded ‘Best World Act’ five years running at the WAMIs (Western Australian Music Industry Awards) and is currently touring the nation with her latest cd ‘Welele!’ In this chat with Michelle Smith, Grace began with some background to her birthplace.
