Lesson 1

• それから (so-re-ka-ra) = and then/after that (used for joining sentences together)
• しています (shi-te-i-ma-su) = doing
• してください (shi-te-ku-da-sa-i) = please do
• 結婚 (ke-kkon) = marriage (けっこん)
• 洗濯 (sen-taku) = laundry (せんたく)
• 掃除 (sou-ji) = cleaning; dusting; sweeping; scrubbing (そうじ)
• 掃除する (sou-ji-su-ru) = (to) clean up; (to) dust; (to) sweep; (to) scrub (suru-verb) (そうじする)
• 家の掃除 (ie-no-sou-ji) = housework (いえのそうじ)

Lesson 2

• すぐに (su-gu-ni) = immediately
• シャワー (sha-waa) = shower/showers
• どうやって = how; in what way; by what means
• 読む (yo-mu) = to read (よむ)
• 読んでいます (yo-n-de-i-ma-su) = I am reading (よんでいます)
• 浴びる (a-bi-ru) = (1) to take (a shower); to dash over oneself (e.g. water); (あびる)
• 帰る (kae-ru) = (1) to go home; to return (to origin); to come home; to go back (かえる)

Lesson 3

• 開ける (a-ke-ru) = (1) to open (a door, etc.); to unlock; (あける)
• 開け (a-ke) = open (あけ)
• 飲む (no-mu) = to drink; to gulp; to swallow (のむ)
• 食べる (ta-be-ru) = to eat (たべる)
• 座る (suwa-ru) = (1) to sit; to squat; (2) to assume (a position) (すわる)
• 座って (suwa-tte) = sit (down) (すわって)
• 書く (ka-ku) = to write; to compose; to pen (かく)

Lesson 4

• 閉める (shi-me-ru) = to close; to shut
• 閉め (shi-me) = close (しめ)
• 電気 (den-ki) = electricity/the light/lights (でんき)
• つける (tsu-ke-ru) = (13) to turn on (light) (v1, vt) (uk) (verb with plenty of meanings)
• 立つ (ta-tsu) = (1) to stand up; to stand; to raise (たつ)
• 早い (haya-i) = early (adjective) (はやい)

Lesson 5

• 帰る (kae-ru) = to go home; return (to origin); to come home; to go back (かえる)
• ちょっと (cho-tto) = a little bit
• 少し (suko-shi) = little while / little bit (すこし)
• もう少し (suko-shi) = a little while more / a little bit more (すこし)
• 待つ (ma-tsu) = (1) to wait; (2) to await; to look forward to; (まつ)
• 消す (ke-su) = (2) to turn off (power); to erase; to delete (けす)
• 勤める (tsuto-me-ru) = (1) to work (for); to be employed (at); (...) (v1, vt) (つとめる)

Lesson 6

• ドア (do-a) = door
• ゆっくり = slowly
• 携帯電話 (kei-tai-den-wa) = mobile/cell phone (けいたいでんわ)
• 話をします (hanashi-o-shi-ma-su) = we are going to talk (はなしをします)
• 台 (dai) = counter for machines and furniture (だい)

持っています (mo-tte-i-ma-su) = to have/possess, to hold/carry (in my hand) (もっています)
