As we prepare for election season, we are beginning to hear the debate about "minority rule" come back into the public discourse. Minority rule is the concept that the minority party can dictate legislation even though they represent a fewer number of constituents. We base our conversation on articles from The Atlantic and NPR.
As you will see, the danger of "factions"--i.e. political parties--and the tyranny of the majority were on the forefront of the Founding Fathers' minds. They had this same conversation in 1787... join the conversation
