The NSW government has announced a move to legislate a ban on "no-fault evictions", preventing landlords from ending a lease without a "reasonable" excuse from next year.

The changes will be some of the most significant in the rental market in a decade, with NSW Premier, Chris Minns telling RN Breakfast "something has to change" as Sydney rental prices sky-rocket and the city loses more young people.
