Treasurer says inflation data 'welcome and encouraging'

The annual rate of headline inflation fell to 3.5 per cent in July, down from 3.8 per cent in June. Treasurer Jim Chalmers told RN Breakfast the data is "encouraging" and show the Albanese Government's economic approach is working.

But the Treasurer acknowledges while the figures also showed underlying inflation was moderating, there's still "lots of work to do" in the fight against inflation.
